A Year of Growth – Week 15 – Dream Home

Yoga room? Large garden? Library? Secret bookshelf room? Secret bookshelf door leading to a large garden with a semi outdoor library and a yoga space?

Do I really have to pick just one… Thinking about my dream home is something I probably do a little more than the average person. Actually, this is something that I definitely share with my fiance – we’ve had 1000’s of discussions about prospective “dream homes”. I think the final verdict is that we’ll have to get super rich and own houses all over New Zealand in all the different landscapes that we can find if we want to come even close to fulfilling all of our house dreams.

One thing that I definitely want is a dedicated yoga space, somewhere I can go to chill out, do some stretches and just be at peace. I think the place where I tend to be the most at peace is outside, so it makes sense that the yoga space would be outdoors, or at least have access to the outdoors… Perhaps in a pergola surrounded by a giant, beautifully kept garden?

I’ve always been very sure that my future house will have a secret bookshelf room. I’m not sure what that room will be, I don’t mind really but all those detective books I read when I was younger have very much engrained into me that one of the rooms in my house should be hidden…

That’s already two features, I should stop before I bore you all with the entire house plans from start to finish.

What would you have in your dream home?
